Why us? Why christians? Well, he has to worry about us. We have a joy from Jesus Christ, and if we are showing that joy, we are a threat. You see, if we make christianity look boring, or hypocritical, he has no qualms with us. in fact we are probably helping him out. But when we are joyful in the spirit. Kind to others. A friend to the friendless. He's got a problem. We are making God look good. He wants people to see God as rules and unattainable goals. Remember, we are the light that people need to see. i'm not telling you that every bad thing that happens to you is caused by the devil. But there are many stumbling blocks trying to trip us up, and if we can cling to our Savior during these times, not only will it strengthen our faith, but we will cramp the Devils style, (making him mad), and that makes me happy.
Favorite example is Job. Do you think Job had so many problems cause he wasn't a threat? "This man was blameless and upright; he feared God, and shunned evil." (Job 1:1) Satan basically told God that if he didn't bless Job so much, he would turn his back on him. And boy, did Job get tested.
i think sometimes as christians we fell like we are to be blessed 24/7 with no troubles ever. What i find disturbing, is that some preachers preach this message. What makes us better that anyone else? Nothing! We are all sinners, we have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23). We didn't earn this. So stop acting like it!
i can tell you right now, that being a christian is a lot harder life in many ways. There will be a battle over your soul, and the closer you get to Jesus the bigger the battle. it is also a lot easier. Because during the trials you can lay your burdens at Christ's feet. You don't have to carry them around with you.
Be armed for the battle. Read your bible. Ephesians 6:10-20. . . . . "Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devils schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." So put on your armor. The belt of truth. Breastplate of righteousness. Shield of faith. Helmet of salvation. Sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.
i leave you with this. Ephesians 6:19-20 "Pray also for me, that whenever i speak, words may be given me so that i will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel. . . .Pray that i may declare it fearlessly, as i should."
