James 1:19-20 "Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. Because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires." Anger produces a hostile environment, and most people don't feel better after yelling. it's too easy to say things we can't take back when we are angry.
One of the best things my husband has taught me, is to not speak right away when you are upset. it used to drive me crazy, because when we would get in a disagreement, i would want to talk it out right away. But he would always say, "when does talking about it right away ever make it better?"
Don't let anger control you, and do not use it as an excuse for bad behavior. We are gonna slip up sometimes. We aren't perfect, but that's part of our flawed beauty.
James 1:26-27 "Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight run on their tongue deceives themselves, and their religion is worthless." Let that soak in . . .
Let's not drink the poison that anger will try to serve us.
Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.
