Sometimes we stay silent because we are ashamed to speak up. Or maybe a fear of judgement has stopped our tongues. Other times maybe it's to show our disproval.
What is your silence saying?
Maybe your like me. Maybe you are realizing now is not the time to stay silent. Are you being called to speak up? Has God laid something on your heart you need to deal with?
i have felt called to speak. So, for the record, here are just two things i will no longer stay silent on.
1. My devotion to Christ. No only when around other believers, but always.
2. Walking away from people or things that do not honor the Lord. This one is hard. This doesn't mean i can't have a friend that is a nonbeliever, but what activities am i doing with them? Am i bringing them up, or are they bringing me down? Who's values are rubbing off on who? it's something to think about.
Many of you may think im a goody goody/Jesus freak/or "too Christian", and you know what? Thats ok. i'm not here to impress you, or earn your approval. And i no longer want/or need it. My sole purpose in life is to serve Jesus Christ, with my voice, heart, mind, soul. And i plan to start now.
i believe the Bible is the true word of God. i am not going to argue it with you, or cram it down your throat. But i will not tolerate anyone making fun of my beliefs, or belittling them. i will speak up.
i believe in forgiveness. i also believe we can be forgiven, and still have consequences from our actions.
i believe my life has a purpose, as does yours. We were not left over play dough. that God just made a extra person with. We were designed by a perfectly flawless God, He doesn't make mistakes.
Lastly, i believe we need to speak up. Sometimes sin just needs to just be called sin. Flee from the very appearance of sin. Guard your heart, for it is where the Lord resides.
As always my prayers are with you friends,
