Lets let that sink in for a moment. i want to highlight a couple areas in this definition. "Power of resisting attacks." "Dealing with problems in a effective way." This puts a whole new spiritual spin on strength for me.
Strength to me is important. i want to be strong. Not just physically strong, but spiritually. if fact i will be as bold to say, that spiritual strength, is way more important than physical strength. One day our physical bodies will die, and strength will fade.
Are you flexing your faith muscles? Are you gaining spiritual strength?
Heres where i lay it on the table. Reading devotionals is great. i like to read them in the evenings, but reading them is like a snack. A light read, (depending on which one you are reading), and a few verses attached to tie it all together. But, is this the only "weight" you are lifting for your spirit? You don't get muscles by only lifting a 2 lb weight a few times a day. You get it by lifting 5 lb, then the next day 10, and before you know it you are up to 50lbs! You keep pushing yourself, to gain more strength to get stronger so you can "resist attacks".
You have to feed on the Word. Get into the Word. No excuses! i'm tired of hearing people complain they have no time. God made time for you, He always has time for you. i promise you once you get into reading the Bible you will become so strong, that things that used to bother you won't anymore.
Get pumped up! Lift those Bibles!
