The above statements are what i wish someone would have told me about child rearing. i also wish they weren't true.
Yes, i am a christian. Yes i look to Christ for my answers, and yet there are still times i am confused on the best answer to a situation.
Raising children is one of the hardest things i have ever done, or will do in my life. (Also the most meaningful).
So, if i do something you wouldn't, here are somethings for you remember . . .
You aren't me.
You aren't raising my child, i am.
i was called to me my Son's mother.
God choose me.
He believe's in me,
so it's ok if you don't.
Your reaction to a situation is not my responsibility,
my response is.
My children are watching me,
and how i handle situations.
They also look to me for comfort and safety,
so i will do my job to provide that.
What you may call it coddling
i may call nurturing.
And on my end, i will try to remember . . .
Not to get defensive.
i will try to remember,
you probably mean well.
And i will do my hardest to remain me,
not get lost in all the "advice" given.
it's hard enough to be a good mama, please try to remember every child is different, and most of us are just trying to give them what they need.
So next time you think you want to judge someone, think about your motives. (A good tip to go by: if it doesn't lift the person up, you should probably keep it to yourself).
