Whatever it may be we all know "that" person. Now i want you to picture that person in your mind. Got it? Now beside her/him picture Jesus on the cross being executed. (Stay with me here). And within His last breaths He looks at her/him and says "i love you, i do this for you."
Now, why did i give you that visual? Let me explain. Whenever i am angered or put off by someone, or their behavior, (be it odd, or just plain mean), i try to make myself visually see this. it helps remind me that Jesus died for that person too, with the same amount of intense love. Whether they believe in Him or not makes no difference. He loves them the same amount as me. i am no better than anyone else. The bible says in Proverbs 20:9 "Who can say, "i have kept my heart pure; i am clean and without sin"?
The obvious answer, no one. We are all sinful, we have all fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). So lets stop being so self righteous. Lets start listening to the Holy Spirit, and reach out to the quiet, odd, hurting, and needy.
No one is asking for you to be best friends, but stop being so self serving, and only worried about your own comfort levels. God has called us to love the unloveable. Unlovable isn't always gonna have perfect makeup and a wonderful personality, but Jesus died for them as much as you.
Lets stand up Christians! Unite! Lets act out what we teach and preach. No longer putting our heads in the sand hoping it will go away.
i leave you with this. . .
if you were the only christian someone knew, would they believe?
